Kathryn Hopgood, Soprano

Kathryn's deep joy for music has led to sixteen years of choral ensembles and a music performance degree from Pacific Union College. Kathryn has been a soprano soloist in Spain, Scandinavia, China and Russia, and has also enjoyed playing lead roles for the Napa Valley Musical Theatre such as Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof. She takes much joy in performing in many Napa Valley weddings, church services and other private parties and charity events and is a lead musician in a local band, "The Fabulous Screwtops." Kathryn spends her days with the amazing students at the Calistoga Jr/Sr High School as their Registrar has hopes of having her own choir someday.

Formed in 2012, the Slides of Sauron is a trombone quartet featuring Mitchell Aiken (tenor), Grant Jeffcoat (tenor), Wyatt Jeffcoat (tenor), and Evan Blasingame (bass). While the Slides of Sauron have been known to play
a diverse spectrum of genres, their latest emphasis on music of the
Third Age of Middle Earth especially highlights the sonic superiority of the
trombone, or sackbut as it was known in the Baroque period.
Capable of mind-bending fortississimos and heart-wrenching pianissimos
of harmonic glory, the Slides of Sauron are sure to inspire romantic
exaltation from Middle Earth to Valinor.
